C. OXYGEN SENSOR INSTALLATION
Some machining and welding is required for this installation. If you are not comfortable with either procedure, please take your
motorcycle to an S&S® certied facility for the work.
Do not connect the battery until told to do so in these instructions. Failure to do so may result in damage to your wire harness and other
motorcycle electronics which can result in costly repair and service fees. Leaving the battery disconnected during the entirety of this
installation prevents accidental starting of the motorcycle which could cause injury to you or others around you.
Gasoline is extremely ammable! Be sure to keep all open ames and sparks away from it. Always work on your motorcycle in a well
ventilated area.
S&S fuel injection is not compatible with E85 fuel. Use of E85 fuel may cause your engine to run poorly and/or damage to system
components.
NOTE: S&S PN 55-5090 comes with an ECM that is not calibrated but a calibration CD is supplied. S&S recommends that all calibrations be performed by
an S&S certied dealer.
NOTE: Quantity of two S&S PN 106-2061 and PN 55-1593 is required. Some components may be supplied with an S&S complete engine kit.
NO TE: A good trick that S&S technicians have used for locating oxygen sensors is to thread the boss onto an old oxygen sensor that has the front tip cut o.
This then allows the technician to position the oxygen sensor the way it would be after completion and allows them to easily trace the outside of the boss.
See Picture 3.
NOTE: Use an appropriate size drill bit or die grinder to achieve the ¾” hole.
